Wave Aquatics is pleased to announce that three members of our community have joined the organization’s Board of Directors.  Please join us in welcoming Karin Cheung, Phil Davis and Ross Miller to the Board.  These new members join Chris Geitz, Anna Mangual, and Patrick Weihert to provide governance, guiding Wave's finances, operations and strategy.

“I was inspired to join the Wave Aquatics Board as I know first-hand the importance for youth swimming programs and the impact swimming can have in shaping our children’s lives and community. From my experience as a youth age group swimmer to being an NCAA All-American at the University of  Washington and Olympic Trials finalist, swimming has developed my sense of discipline, work ethic, and community.  As I am now watching my twelve-year son grow as a Wave swimmer, I am very passionate about expanding opportunities for youth swimming, while helping strengthen the bonds of a community we all call home.”

“As a youth sports coach and parent, I believe swimming is a powerful way for kids to grow in confidence, teamwork, and lifelong health. Wave’s mission to inspire engagement in aquatics across the Eastside community reflects the kind of inclusive, character-building impact I’m proud to support.”

“Some of my favorite childhood memories were ones I made with my teammates, swimming and playing water polo. I love aquatics and I'm excited to increase our community's exposure and access to all aquatic sports. Having experienced the excellent culture at Wave as a swim school and swim team parent, I'm inspired by and grateful for the opportunity to serve as a trustee.”

The Wave Community extends our heartfelt thanks to long-time board member Cari Brumfield, who stepped off the board at the end of December. Cari served Wave for six years, helping steward the organization through the impacts of COVID and leadership change. Cari’s tenure on the board included serving as Board President, during which time she supported efforts to bring a scholarship program to Wave. We thank Cari for her leadership, dedication and service to Wave and our community.
