ADULT LESSONS
We are excited to announce an update to our Adult Lessons curriculum!
Starting with Session 6, Adult Lessons will be following the new curriculum. If you have already been in our Adult Lessons, please make sure you check the new class descriptions below to pick the most appropriate level for yourself. If you have questions about which level would be best for you, please reach out to waveswimschool@waveaquatics.org.
Age 14 years and up
The Wave Swim School offers four levels of Adult Swim Lessons for ages 14 and up. Our lessons are for all levels of swimming ability, from complete beginner to someone looking to refine their swimming skills. Depending on the class level, it will be either two 30 minute lessons, or one 60 minute lesson per week.

Class Levels
BEGINNER
The Beginner Level is designed for anyone with little to no swimming experience, as well as anyone looking to conquer their fears of water. This level focuses on becoming comfortable in the water, water safety skills, breath control, and fundamental swimming skills.
This class is taught in shallow water (3ft-4.5ft)
INTERMEDIATE
The Intermediate Level focuses on further developing skills learned in the Beginner Level, along with introducing formal swimming strokes (Freestyle and Elementary Backstroke). In this class, students will learn more water safety skills, along with transitioning to swimming in deep water.
To enroll in the Intermediate Level, students should be able to float and glide on both front and back, roll between a front float and a back float, perform flutter kicks using a kick board, and use arm scoops and flutter kicks to swim at least ten yards independently.
This class starts in shallow water (3ft-4.5ft) and transitions to working in deep water (5ft-14ft)
ADVANCED
The Advanced Level focuses on advanced water safety skills, further developing the strokes learned in Intermediate Level (Freestyle and Elementary Backstroke), and introducing Backstroke and Breaststroke.
To enroll in the Advanced Level, students should be able to swim Freestyle for 25 yards, swim Elementary Backstroke, tread water for at least 1 minute in deep water, and be comfortable jumping into and swimming in deep water.
This class is taught in deep water (5ft-14ft)
EXPERT
The Expert Level focuses on refining the swimming strokes learned in previous levels, along with introducing skills used for fitness swimming.
To enroll in the Expert Level, students should be able to tread for at least 2 minutes in deep water, swim Freestyle, Elementary Backstroke, and Backstroke for 25 yards, swim Breaststroke for 15 yards, and perform Freestyle and Breaststroke open turns.
This class is taught in deep water (5ft-14ft)
