MEET THE TEAM

Cambria Dawn
Aquatics Director
My name is Cambria Dawn. I have worked in Aquatic Management for over 8 years and been a lifeguard and swim instructor for over 15 years. Since moving back to Seattle from San Diego, I have been looking for a place where I could use my background in Management and love of teaching Water Safety. I’m excited to be a part of the Wave Aquatics team. See you at the pool!

Sophia Claphan
Wave Swim School Director
My name is Sophie, and I recently moved to the Seattle area from North Idaho. I have worked in aquatics and taught swim lessons for over eight years. After graduating from the University of Idaho, I wanted to find a place to bring my background in education and love of swimming. I love being a part of the Wave team, and working to provide high quality swim lessons to our community

Bear White
Maintenance, Safety and Training Director
My name is Bear White, and I have over 20 years of experience in the aquatics field. After relocating from Florida to Redmond two years ago, I transitioned into a new chapter of my life as a medically retired United States Marine. Currently, I am honored to serve the community alongside my medical service dog, Dove, through Wave Aquatics.
At Wave Aquatics, I am responsible for maintaining the pool facilities, as well as overseeing lifeguard training and ensuring safety protocols are met. I am deeply passionate about creating a safe, well-maintained environment where the community can enjoy all the benefits that aquatics has to offer.

Swarali Parikh
Human Resources, Community Outreach, and Events Manager
My name is Swarali Parikh. I have been a lifelong competitive and recreational swimmer and have taught swim lessons for two years. After graduating college, I am proud to serve as the Human Resources, Community Outreach Manager, and Rentals Coordinator at Wave Aquatics. With a steadfast commitment to providing an inclusive and educational environment for the community, I oversee hiring and staff development, build strong community partnerships, and manage facility rentals to support the organization’s mission. I thrive on creating opportunities for people of all backgrounds to access safe and enjoyable aquatic experiences.

Zac Matula
Redmond Pool Director
My name is Zac Matula. I moved to the Seattle area from Texas and was looking to utilize my emergency medicine and aquatics management skills. That's when I found my way to Wave Aquatics. I've been around a pool for almost 20 years now, starting with competitive swimming. My love for the water translated into roles such as Lifeguarding and Aquatics Supervisor as I grew older. I'm excited to work with our team in creating a wonderful and safe pool. I can't wait to see you there!

Sarah Votava
Assistant Director
My name is Sarah Votava and I have been with Wave Aquatics since 2022. I started my career in aquatics in 2014 when I started lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons during the summers at the Kingsgate 3&4 pool. After COVID I started with Wave as a lifeguard and swim instructor, and I have been here ever since! I love working with the WAVE team and I'm always looking forward to the ways we are growing and learning together!
