MEET THE TEAM
Cambria Dawn
Aquatics Director
My name is Cambria Dawn. I have worked in Aquatic Management for over 8 years and been a lifeguard and swim instructor for over 15 years. Since moving back to Seattle from San Diego, I have been looking for a place where I could use my background in Management and love of teaching Water Safety. I’m excited to be a part of the Wave Aquatics team. See you at the pool!
Sophia Claphan
Wave Swim School Director
My name is Sophie, and I recently moved to the Seattle area from North Idaho. I have worked in aquatics and taught swim lessons for over eight years. After graduating from the University of Idaho, I wanted to find a place to bring my background in education and love of swimming. I love being a part of the Wave team, and working to provide high quality swim lessons to our community
Aili McJunkin
Juanita Pool Director
My name is Aili McJunkin and I have been with WAVE since 2018. I started swimming as early as I can remember and grew to have a strong competitive swimming background. My first job ever was teaching swim lessons and I love to interact with people! I joined WAVE as an assistant coach and at this time currently am one of the lead coaches for the sport groups. I have also progressed over to the operations side as well to expand my skills in aquatics!
Zac Matula
Redmond Pool Director
My name is Zac Matula. I moved to the Seattle area from Texas and was looking to utilize my emergency medicine and aquatics management skills. That's when I found my way to Wave Aquatics. I've been around a pool for almost 20 years now, starting with competitive swimming. My love for the water translated into roles such as Lifeguarding and Aquatics Supervisor as I grew older. I'm excited to work with our team in creating a wonderful and safe pool. I can't wait to see you there!
Sarah Votava
Assistant Director
My name is Sarah Votava and I have been with Wave Aquatics since 2022. I started my career in aquatics in 2014 when I started lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons during the summers at the Kingsgate 3&4 pool. After COVID I started with Wave as a lifeguard and swim instructor, and I have been here ever since! I love working with the WAVE team and I'm always looking forward to the ways we are growing and learning together!
