We are thrilled to announce the promotion of Chad Winkle to WAVE's Executive Director. Chad has been the acting Executive Director since October. During this time he skillfully led the organization through the challenges of the COVID pandemic, drove the successful opening of the Redmond Pool, made intentional moves to support the performance of WAVE's athletes, and has been actively improving the WAVE organizational culture through a focus on inclusion and diversity.
Chad will continue in his role as the Swim Team Head Coach. Michael Montgomery (Aquatics Director), Julia Shmutser (Water Polo Coach), Wade Praeger (Lake Washington Masters Coach), Kim Dang (Bookkeeper) and Ashley Thayer (Business Administrator) will report to Chad.

I am very excited to take on the position of Executive Director in a full time capacity and work to lead not only the Swim Team but all of WAVE Aquatics into the future. I am fortunate enough to have spent the last 7 years as a coach with WAVE and have a very unique perspective on all that WAVE does as an organization. I look forward to fostering our relationships with the Lake Washington School District, the City of Redmond, and Strattonwood Swim Club. I am also very excited to continue to work with our current staff to grow and develop our Water Polo Team, Masters Team, and Swim Lessons program. Lastly, I am happy to be able to continue as the Head Coach of the Swim Team and be able to continue to grow and develop our Sports and Select Teams.
